John Huddleston was an entrepreneur if not a good Quaker.  His good neighbors would not vouch for his character, so he never got his inn keepers permit.  But, wagons could park in the farmyard and the travelers could pay to cook in the public kitchen.  for an extra fee they could even eat with the family.
